Last summer, the teens of Skylin, Texas were my best friends. Sitting down and watching the newest episode of Cruel Summer was a weekly ritual. If you’re also a Cruel Summer fanatic, I have some news for you. Here is everything we know about season 2 of the hit Freeform Drama.

1. It won’t be about Jeanette Turner and Kate Wallis

Sorry, everyone. Season 2 of Cruel Summer will not tell us how Kate and Jeanette’s story continues. We won’t get any more information on that chilling last scene of the finale. Instead, Cruel Summer will be an anthology show, where every season has a different plot and characters, like American Horror Story.

2. Y2K vibes

The new story takes place in the iconic Y2K years. Like season 1, it will take place over three years, just a decade later. The story takes place somewhere in the Pacific Northwest and it follows Megan, Isabella, and Luke. There aren’t too many plot details yet, but we know it involves a love triangle and a mystery.

3. Brand new cast

The cast of this brand new adventure includes Sadie Stanley (Kim Possible, 2019) as Megan Landry, Eloise Payet as Isabella LaRue, and Griffin Gluck (Locke & Key) as Luke Chambers. Other actors joining the class include KaDee Strickland (Private Practice), Lisa Yamada (All American), and Sean Blakemore (The Quad).

While I’m definitely upset to have seen the last of Skylin, I can’t wait to see what this amazing show has in store for this new chapter!
