If you aren’t familiar with Laurie Gilmore’s Dream Harbor series, the books consist of small-town romance novels taking place in a small town called Dream Harbor. This series can be read as stand-alones, but is a great series when put together. Every book has interconnected characters, and each book follows their story.
It takes you through Jeanie’s life, moving to a new small town, inheriting her aunt’s coffee shop, where she meets someone unexpected. Unexpectedly, Jeanie instantly falls in love with her new town, new business, and new home. Logan, the young handsome farmer in town, who has grown up in Dream Harbor his whole life, might stir up some unexpected romance with Jeanie.
The tension between Jeanie and Logan will keep you on your toes. Their story is sometimes secretive and spicy, which makes for a perfect fall romance story.
I’m also such a coffee lover, and reading about a story about a cafe owner made me instantly connect to the setting. I always wanted to be a regular at a coffee shop that had this type of vibe. Jeanie knew everyone’s regular orders and didn’t even have to ask what people wanted, and just reading about that made it feel like such a tight-knit small-town coffee shop.
I was a little skeptical going into this book because I have only ever heard of it on TikTok, and it only has a three-star rating on Goodreads, but overall, it was a quick, wholesome read that I definitely recommend to embrace the fall season. It is a very hallmark movie type vibe, but book form.
