4 Things To Try Doing If You Are Feeling Stuck In Rut

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIT chapter.

These days it can feel as if you are living in Groundhog Day as it can be hard to find the motivation to keep moving. This may be the time to switch things up. Below are four things to try that will hopefully help you ease out of the rut.

1. Self-Care

Try a new face mask, paint your nails, or even give that hair tutorial video you have been saving a try. When you look good you feel good, and if you feel good you can accomplish anything.

2. Cook Or Bake From Scratch

Find a new recipe, buy some fresh ingredients, and have fun. You get the benefits of getting to eat something delicious and the feeling of accomplishment because you know you made it all by yourself.

3. Technology Detox

Give your brain a break from the phone and computers. Grab your favorite book or go for a walk just to simply be unfocused. Sometimes removing yourself from the problem may be the best thing to solve the problem.

4. Travel Somewhere New

Traveling someplace new does not have to mean going on some elaborate vacation. It can even be as simple as deciding to go to a different Starbucks than you normally do. Adding any new scenery to your routine may help lift you out of that funk.
