4 Fashion Trends to Look Out for in 2023

Every year, there are several fashion trends we look forward to. Whether it is bringing back the Y2K style, funky patterns, mix & match, leather, etc., there’s always something new or something old that begins to trend. Based on the past couple of years, here are what I believe will be the fashion trends in 2023.

Lace

Lace was very big back in the 2010s. You could go to any store like Forever 21 or Zara and find lace sleeve tops or lace dresses. They stopped trending by 2016, however, I believe they’re going to make a comeback and stay. We’ve seen lace all over corsets and bustiers, but now we’re seeing them on dresses, tops, and pants. Back in October 2022, Bella Hadid, who is known as a fashion it-girl, was seen wearing an all lace dress for her 26th birthday. Many Gen-Zers get their fashion inspiration from her, and I think she’s getting lace to trend again for the new year.

Feather

Who doesn’t love an iconic feather moment? Whether it’s Carrie Bradshaw wearing her feather bustier, Sadie Sink wearing a feather dress at this year’s Venice film festival, or even many looks from the 2022 Met Gala. From the trims to the whole outfit, feather is in. When you look at pictures from Hollywood’s after parties, award shows, premieres, or any special events, someone is bound to be dressed in something feathery. It’s fun, it’s fancy, and most importantly, it’s soft. You can spice up any feather fashion piece for a night out, or you can dress it down and wear it during the day. This is something that’s been seen on many celebrities and have been in stock at many designer stores like Bronx and Banco, Valentino, Retrofête, and more!

Glitter/ Rhinestones

Ready to brighten up your look? Well, you can get started now because glitter and rhinestones are IN! From glitter & rhinestone dresses, tops, and pants, this is a trend that’s gonna make you shine. Any retail store you go into, you can definitely find something with a touch of sparkle. It’s time to put the whole black outfit away when you go out and make sure you stand out in the room with some bling. One piece that is definitely trending is the low rise Paillette skirt by Danielle Guizio. It’s encrusted with sequins, glitter, and is perfect for any special occasion! You can find dupes on Edikted, Dolls Kill, or Nordstrom if that’s what you’re looking for. Meshki, Revolve, ASOS, Free People, and Nasty Gal are also definitely catching onto this trend!

Low Rise with Long Tops

We’ve been seeing low rise trending with Bella Hadid, Devon Lee Carlson, and Emma Chamberlain. Everyone’s been digging that sexy “office” style look when going out: the low rise pants/skirt with a button down shirt or a crop top and blazer. Now let’s add a “longer” look to it. Walking the streets of NYC, LA, Paris, London, Milan, you can see many people styling their low rise jeans from thrift stores or Levi’s with a cute white tank top or baby tee. You see the low rise skirts with mesh crop tops and blazers to make it a bit more classy, but how about a long top that sits right above the waist? It make the outfit more fun, chic, and definitely trendy. Picture this… a low rise skirt, but instead with a crop top, it is paired with a long sleeve, fitted shirt that stops right above the skirt band. Now, that’s hot, as Paris Hilton would say! So yes, start wearing all your low rise pieces with longer tops because not only is that what you’re going to be seeing more of, but it’s definitely the perfect trendy look that will stick around.
