Why You Should Be A Part of Her Campus Fairfield and How To Join

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Do you want to write for the #1 online magazine on campus? Some of our team members shared their opinions on what Her Campus Fairfield means to them, and how it’s changed their Fairfield experience.  Apply here to be a writer, or here to be on the events team! Read below for why you should join Her Campus Fairfield:

Her Campus Fairfield University has truly been an amazing experience because it gave me the chance to practice my marketing, social media, and video editing skills within a team. My leadership and communication skills have improved and I got the chance to make a lot of friends. I was a part of tons of projects last year and produced really cool social media contests and videos. Having HCFU on my resume gave me a conversation starter in the interview that got me my internship this past summer. I was able to take what I learned from being a part of HCFU and use those skills to improve my experience at the company I worked for. I love being a part of HCFU!!! – Lauren Ruffo, 2017

When I first joined Her Campus Fairfield I never could have imagined how much I would enjoy it. From writing articles to team meetings there is no other club or team on campus I would rather devote my time too. I get to do what I love and hang out with amazing girls! Plus it looks amazing on my resume!!” – Megan Harney, 2016

There are so many amazing things I could say about Her Campus Fairfield and how it has enhanced my experience here. Not only do I feel like I am a part of a team, I have also met some of my best friends thus far in my experience.  Because Fairfield does not have Greek life, Her Campus has established an alternative for girls who want to be involved in planned events and fundraisers similar to a sisterhood. Throughout the process of planning these events, we have a lot of fun together as group and share ideas collectively. If you are someone interested in writing, fashion and social media, this club is ideal for you. We offer a wide range of opportunity catered to specific interests in these fields. From a personal standpoint, not only have I become a better writer, but creative thinker as well. When I first joined last spring, Her Campus Fairfield was just introduced to our campus. In just a few short months we became a Pink Level Chapter, which takes other chapter’s years to accomplish. Without our amazing group of girls this feat would not have been possible and we would not have the positive reputation we do today. I encourage EVERYONE to get involved because it truly is once in a lifetime opportunity. – Gabriella Restivo, 2017

Writing for her campus has been such an amazing experience for me personally and for my future. It gives me hands on experience and as well as a fun outlet. Writing my weekly articles is one of the best parts of my week. Even though being a writer is a position, it’s a hobby too. I’ve met so many great people and love the excitement of new ideas and articles that they produce.- Kayley Nugent, 2016
