As most of you know this Saturday is Oktoberfest.  For those of you who are not familiar, it is an annual day drink at the beach that is based off the actual Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Like any day drink my number one question is “what do I wear?”

Some people tend to go all out and dress the part. Many will be wearing the traditional Oktoberfest attire, like lederhosen, traditional hats, and dirndl bows (the apron usually worn by the girls).

If the traditional getup is too festive for you, here are a few ideas on what to wear.

A Maxi Dress

You can’t go wrong with this one. This classic ensemble is the best of both worlds. It’s the freedom of a dress, but also the coverage of pants. You can also tie the bottom up to keep it from touching the ground. Pair it with a jean jacket to stay warm!

Jean shorts and a crop top

This is a simple, but a very cute look. With the changing weather, this is a great outfit you can just throw a sweater or flannel over and still make it work for a day drink.

Flowy shorts/pants

Flowy shorts and pants are very trendy this season. They are one of my personal favorites because they have the comfort of a dress but the practicality of shorts and pants. Pairing printed and fun flowing bottoms with a simple crop top is never a bad decision (I wore this outfit last week!). I have also seen girls wear a set of flowy shorts and a matching top.

Boyfriend jeans

I have recently seen a lot of girls wearing outfits like this to day drinks, and I absolutely love it! It is one of my favorite outfits for those days when it’s a little cold, but you still want to look trendy. Pair with a sweater to add to the cool, laidback vibe of the outfit.

The weather forecast for this weekend is calling for showers and a high of 57 degrees. With that being said many of these outfits are versatile enough that adding a rain jacket or some rain boots will not ruin the look. And don’t forget your wristband and beer stein!

Have fun this weekend collegiettes. As they would say in Germany, Prost!
