It’s a sad day for Victoria’s Secret customers everywhere. The company announced today that they will no longer be selling swimsuits by the end of the year. The time that you have been spending in class scrolling through the site trying to find the perfect bikini for the summer is about to end.
Victoria Secret’s chairman and CEO, Leslie H. Wexner, made a statement saying:
“Coming off a record year, now is the best time to make improvements…going to from best to even better. We are making those changes to accelerate our growth and to strengthen the business for the long term by narrowing our focus and simplifying our operating model.”
Although I live for Victoria’s Secret bikinis, the company is not leaving us completely hanging. The swimsuit line will be replaced with an activewear clothing line. The new activewear line might not be stylish swimsuits, but instead an incentive to go to the gym because you will look cute and put together, not just in plain old workout clothes. You’ll be ready for bikini season in no time, even if they are not the Victoria’s Secret ones we spend months obsessing over.
