2018 has been a great year for bookworms everywhere! There have been so many amazing novels published from all genres that once you start reading, you won’t want to put any of them down! Here’s a roundup of some of the best page-turners so far this year.

1. When Life Gives You LuluLemons by Lauren Weisberger

Writer of Devil Wears Prada is back with her third book of the series. This time focusing on Emily Charlton, who has quit her job as Miranda Preistly’s assistant and is an image consultant. Emily heads to the suburbs of Greenwich, Connecticut in hopes of winning a new client. Count on this book to be funny, fashionable, and of course, fabulous.

2. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Tomi Adeyemi debuts her first novel: a fantasy young adult novel for lovers of magic and quests. In this novel, the main character Zelie goes on a quest to bring magic back to her kingdom and avenge her mother’s death.

3. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah

This is a fantastic novel for historical fiction fans. Kristin Hannah, a New York Times Bestselling Author, has written another masterpiece. This novel takes place in 1974 and follows the journey of the Allbright family. After the father, Ernt, returns from fighting in the Vietnam War he finds it difficult to re-adjust to civilian life, so he moves his family to Alaska. The story follows Ernt’s own challenges with PTSD, as well as the challenges his wife and thirteen-year-old daughter face while dealing with Ernt and their move.

4. The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory

Drew Nichols needs a plus one to his ex’s wedding. It looks like he’ll be going alone when he miraculously gets stuck in an elevator with Alexa Monroe. Alexa agrees to go with him to the wedding and romance ensues. Anyone who’s loved Sophie Kinsella is sure to fall for this romance novel.

5. The Home for Unwanted Girls by Joanna Goodman

Another great read for historical fiction lovers, this novel takes place in the 1950s and will tug at your heart as it follows the stories of orphan Elodie and her birth mother, Maggie.

6. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

You will not want to put this book down! Johnson creates a thrilling world full of intricate characters and plots. The novel follows Stevie Bell, a young self-proclaimed sleuth with a dark past who attends a prestigious school.

7. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

This young adult fantasy novel has everything you could ever want: mystery, magic, and a princess in need of saving!

8. Girls Burn Brighter by Shobha Rao

What a fantastic read! Roa shows that female friendship can conquer all in this book while touching on contemporary women’s issues.

9. All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin

Author of Something Borrowed, Emily Grififn has returned with this new intriguing fiction novel. The plot follows the Browning and the Volpe families as the two become entangled in a terrible scandal. This book will make you wonder what you’d have to do if you were caught between family and doing what is right.

10. Becoming by Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama released an autobiography – enough said.

11. You Think It I’ll Say It by Curtis Sittenfeld

You Think It, I’ll Say It is collection of middle-age mom stories and we are here for all its pettiness and hilarity.

12. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

We can’t wait until this novel is turned into a Netflix original! This page-turner follows Stella, who is great with numbers but bad with guys. Stella decides that all she needs is more experience, so she hires an escort to tell her the things her numbers and algorithms can’t.

13. Useless Magic by Florence Welch

The lead singer of Florence and the Machine wrote a collection of lyrics and poetry, and yes, it’s just as good as you’d expect.

14. Give Me Your Hand by Megan Abbott

Megan Abbott returns with this page-turning thriller about two old friends pushed back together and both are willing to do anything to get what they want.

15. Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win by Jo Piazza

When Charlotte’s mentor encourages her to run for Senate in Pennsylvania, she quits her job, uproots her family, and moves them all back to her hometown. Charlotte is determined to win the election but faces challenges like an aggressive opponent, a resentful husband, and a secret that could ruin her chances of winning.

16. Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon

We’re absolutely in love with this book! It’s full of recipes, party ideas, and everything else Reese Witherspoon has to teach. We only wish we had it sooner!

17. Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas

On October 23rd, the last book in the Throne of Glass series will be released and we are excited but also devastated that this amazing series is coming to an end!

Molly Concannon is a Jersey girl through and through. She attends Fairfield University where she is majoring in Finance and Public Relations. This is her fourth year on the Her Campus team! She is also slightly obsessed with libraries, reading, and Disney movies, and she definitely will try to pet any dogs she sees.
