Trendsetter Tuesday: Time Travel

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

For this Trendsetter Tuesday, we are travelling back in time…to this past Saturday. This weekend, the junior class decked out in retro inspired outfits and turned the townhouses into a time machine!

Here are some of our fave looks that gave us all the #throwback vibes:

1. Tracey O’Donnell, Paige Honeycomb, & Annie Kilday

If these three are teaching an 80’s inspired workout class, count us in! Paige, Annie, and HCFU’s own Tracey rocked outfits that were both sporty and adorable. The trio paired vibrant leotards with bright tights underneath. Paige and Annie tied t-shirts over their leotards, while Tracey opted for a denim jacket. They accessorized with leg warmers & scrunchies, which totally locked in their 80’s look and makes us want to time travel back to our last workout ASAP!

2. Alanna LoBianco & Michaela Conlon

This duo both paid tribute to two iconic 90’s logos. Michaela rocked a denim jacket/skirt combo with a MTV logo shirt. Her neon green scrunchie and round glasses add to this super fun look that would fit into any 90’s music video! Alanna opted to focus on sugar, spice, and everything nice by repping The Powerpuff Girls. Her flared jeans help highlight her footwear of choice: Crocs! Her jibbitz are bringing back ~so many~ childhood memories.

3. Abby Kirchner & James O’Day

If there’s one thing that 90’s kids know, it’s that denim never goes out of style! Abby rocked a cute pair of denim overalls with a classic white t-shirt. Her round, reflective glasses add a fun pop of color! To finish off this timeless look, Abby wore a pair of classic high top Converse. James’ outfit incorporated the similar glasses, which were totally the highlight of his look. He added more color with a tie-dye t-shirt under a plaid flannel which he paired with some black jeans.

4. Sarah Hoefner

HCFU’s own Sarah looked ~adorable~ during her time travels this past weekend! Mixing both past and current trends, Sarah wore a gingham overall dress which was perfect for the spring weather. She added a black turtleneck underneath to keep her warm during that late afternoon chill. But it was her big white bow and sleek black sunnies that made her outfit stand out in a time warp! We just love this retro cutie!

5. Danielle Rice & Tyler Moragas

That’s So 90’s Show? This couple played tribute to two different decades and still look amazing together! Danielle wore a pastel blue two piece set that was the perfect combination of flirty and flowy! She totally captured the vibes of the 70’s with her hair and makeup, though. The flower crown over her middle-parted hair and large sunglasses helped this outfit have all the ~flower power~. A true 90’s kid, Tyler also opted to make denim the focal point of his look. You absolutely can’t go wrong with a classic pair of jeans and a denim jacket over a white t-shirt!

6. Sarah Dignam & Caroline Gallo

Now this is a story all about how – to make your time travel outfit just a little bit more edgy! Sarah and Caroline both went with classic graphic tees, but proved that edgy definitely isn’t just a phase! Caroline added fishnet tights under her slightly distressed denim skirt which is perfect for time travelling around the townhouses! Sarah kept it simple with denim shorts and a statement belt. She also incorporated fishnet with her choker and topped off her outfit with a pair of hoop earrings!

Overall, these Stags made time travel look ~trendy~. They all have us wishing we could hop in a time machine and live in a different decade every day.
