Far behind us are the days of hearing Hilary Duff’s “Come Clean” on the television screen as we watched the opening credits of MTV’s Laguna Beach. As mere kids in 2004 when the show first aired, we dreamed of being a part of LC and Stephen’s friend group as they went through high school and tanned endlessly on the beaches of California. Despite the throwback MTV gave us during Retro MTV a few summers ago, we can’t help but wish this show still continued on today. Here are some reasons why we can’t help but miss Laguna Beach:

1. The opening credits were pure gold.

2. LC and Lo’s friendship was tried and true.

3. The boys…need I say more?

4. We secretly wished to be as in love as Kristin and Stephen

5. There was just too much drama to even handle.

6. We couldn’t help but imitate Kristin saying things like “Ste-phen” or “Dunzo.”

7. There were so many love triangles that kept each episode going: Kristin-Stephen-LC, LC-Jason-Jess, Jess-Jason-Alex.

8. Everyone was always so perfectly bronzed it made you wish you lived in California too

9. We loved Kristin’s honesty even though sometimes we thought she was a little bit of a b*tch.

10. We never really knew what Stephen and LC were…

11. The styles were always, well, interesting

12.  You cried when they played “Goodbye to You” in the limo after prom

13. You expected to be asked to Prom/Homecoming in the most amazing ways

14. You were disappointed in the third season of LB but fell in love with the spinoff The Hills

15.     When we were on the verge of graduating high school ourselves (and now most likely as college seniors as well) we hoped that LC’s words held true and they even made us shed a tear as we watched.
