I know I’m not alone when it comes to struggling with what to wear during the seasonal changes. Not only is the weather confusing, but so is navigating a new wardrobe.

Trying to find what to wear seems like a constant uphill battle, only to have to figure out how to style it. I’m no expert, but I personally think that the easiest way to do that is by having the basics.

You don’t acquire the perfect staple wardrobe overnight, but here are my top 5 pieces to make the stressful seasonal transition a little bit less stressful.

  1. The perfect gold hoop. What makes a good outfit? A good outfit is how you style it. To me, there’s no better way to add your own personal touch to a basic outfit than with jewelry and accessories. A classy gold hoop is just that- classy, timeless, and goes with just about everything.
  2. Classic button-down. Whether worn in the summer as a bathing suit cover-up, in the winter as a layered piece under a chunky sweater, or simply on its own- there’s nothing like a classic button-down. It can be dressed up, or dressed down, and is super comfortable no matter how you slice it. It’s the perfect way to look chic no matter the season.
  3. Neutral sneakers. A staple everybody needs no matter the occasion- a neutral sneaker is the way to go for running errands, going to class, heading out with friends, or a trendy dinner. Pair them with any outfit, winter or summer, and complete your look.
  4. Basic bodysuit. You can absolutely NEVER have too many basic bodysuits. Wear them with a skirt, jeans, trousers, shorts- literally endless options, never mind the layering possibilities. A basic bodysuit is the ideal way to show off your own style with a piece that works with anything.
  5. Blazer. A blazer elevates any look- and is a super versatile piece. It can work fitted or oversized. Need to dress up a sweatshirt and biker shorts or a comfy jacket over a cute dress? Look no further- a simple blazer is your best friend.

There are enough stressors with the seasonal changes- never mind the fuss of crafting the perfect outfit. The saying remains true: Look good, feel good. Dress your best all year- round and turn heads no matter the occasion.
