THE THREE BEST WAYS TO STYLE YOUR FALL JACKET

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Staying warm is in style! There is no reason to freeze in the cold when you can wear a fall jacket and look good while doing it. This fall, oversized jackets are in style. Oversized jackets are perfect for layering and can be worn for a variety of different occasions. Personally, I love oversized leather jackets, but sherpa jackets or plaid ones are also very fashionable and will keep you toasty on the colder days. Here are three outfits with fall jackets that can work for any fall activity:

  1. Sweater dresses are perfect for the fall because they keep you warm but don’t make you sweat. For a sweater dress, I would definitely recommend an oversized black leather jacket with a tan sweater dress. If you want to dress up the outfit you can pair it with black boots. If you want to keep it casual you can’t go wrong with a pair of white sneakers.
  1. This outfit can be paired perfectly with a flannel jacket. A black skirt and long sleeve shirt with a flannel jacket is great for a day in the city or pumpkin picking with friends. I would recommend wearing mid-height calf black boots like Doc Martens.
  1. If you want to look cute for class or for a day of fall activities, pairing a fall jacket with jeans is the way to go. A plain white-tee and a pair of oversized jeans is a great casual look. With this outfit you can wear any type of fall jacket, but I would recommend wearing a leather one.

The great thing about jackets is that they are both functional and stylish. Whether you want it to be the focal point or accentuate your outfit, a fall jacket can do it all!
