The Spring Break Packing Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

As we approach the time of year where spring break rolls around, it seems as though there’s a never-ending list of necessary preparation that comes with it. Once mid- February hits, so does the scramble to find the next best thing for your upcoming vacation.

I know that preparation can look different for many of us, and at times can be super stressful. I feel pale, maybe a little bit out of shape, and like I have NOTHING to pack. Usually I feel as though in order to have a successful spring break, an entirely new wardrobe is required. While this may be extreme, there are definitely a few things that are 100% worth adding to your cart prior to packing that suitcase.

  1. Supergoop! Glow Screen SPF 40. Who doesn’t want glowy, dewy skin on spring break? Whether hanging by the beach, pool, or going to a nice dinner, this sunscreen is the ultimate beauty must- have. It comes in two different shades, is chemical free, and suits all skin types. Wear it under your makeup or on its own and rock the perfect skin look while protecting your skin simultaneously.
  2. A woven tote bag. You can absolutely NEVER go wrong with a classic tote bag, especially when traveling. A cute tote is the perfect carry-on and doubles as a cute beach bag. There are no shortages of cute bags nowadays, so whether woven, cotton, nylon, etc- this is a definite must- have to hold all of your goodies for your trip!
  3. A cute pair of sunglasses. There’s nothing like a good pair of sunnies on a hot day. They truly are the perfect accessory to any outfit, and give you the sleek, Hailey Bieber look we are all dying to achieve. Pair them with a cute pair of gold hoops, or with your basic bikini and elevate any outfit!
  4. A good pair of denim shorts. Believe me: I too participate in the never-ending search to find the perfect pair of jeans or jean shorts. They have to be comfortable, but cute, and fit right and go with anything. Luckily, I think I may have just found the perfect denim shorts. The Levi 501 Jean Shorts are truly the perfect staple to a vacation wardrobe, so look no further.
  5. A good book. Vacation is supposed to be relaxing, and a time for you to take a break and escape from the stressors and chaos of the fast- paced life back at home. Use this time to better yourself and dive into something new! What better way to do that and pass the time on the beach or by the pool than with a good read?

Let’s make 2023 the year where the preparation for spring break is exciting rather than stressful. This time should be fun and carefree! Lock in the essentials and cross spring break preparation off of the to-do list!
