Turning 20 is weird considering you’re no longer a teenager. When you turn 20 you really feel like an adult. Oh, but age is just a number. Let me tell you… the struggle is REAL when you’re a 20 year old with a baby face. These are just a few of the annoying things about being a 20 year old who looks like they belong in middle school or high school:

1.     Going to restaurants and being asked if you want a kids menu

I mean I do love chicken fingers, but I want to be treated like an adult when I go out to dinner.

2.     Having to show ID at R-rated movies

Really? I was 17 three years ago…

3.     When people act surprised when you tell them that you’re 20

I promise you that I know my own age. I am 20.

4.     Being told you’re cuteI’d rather not be called “cute” anymore. I’m an adult!

5. People way younger being flirty with you

It’s quite the struggle when sophomores in high school flirt with you when you’re a sophomore in college.

6.     Being asked “So where do you go school? Oh, wait you’re not in high school? You’re in college?!”

Yes, I am in college. I’m actually in my second year of college. I finished high school two years ago and I do not want to be perceived as a high schooler.

7.  People ALWAYS telling you that you’re lucky to not look your age and that you’ll appreciate later

I am definitely NOT lucky. Maybe in 20 years I’ll be lucky, but that’s not what I want to hear right now.

8.  People don’t always take you seriously

I am 20 years old meaning I’m educated and in college. Don’t belittle me or question my knowledge.

9.     Being asked “Who’s picking you up?’The answer is: no one actually. I have my own car and my own license!

10.     Being given gifts that don’t match your age

No, I don’t wear Aeropostale anymore.
