Shipping Glitter to Your Enemies is Now A Thing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

One of the most ingenious and ruthless ideas of the 21st century has been introduced: a website that will send an anonymous glitter bomb to anyone you can dream of. At ShipYourEnemiesGlitter.com, you can type in an address and for just $9.99, they will mail a not-so-glamorous package to a target of your choosing. The main idea of the website is to ruin the day for any person you have a personal vendetta against, whether it be the loud girls down the hall or your ex-boyfriend.  As soon as your victim opens the innocent looking envelope, a pile of glitter erupts, accompanying a note explaining exactly why they deserved the mess.

But, why glitter, you ask? Glitter (not diamonds) is a girl’s best friend, right? Wrong.  Not all of us can handle the sparkly substance with as much grace as Ke$ha. For those of you who have experienced using glitter, whether for crafts or to add a little sparkle to your skin for concerts, can understand how much of pain it is. And for all of you who haven’t experimented with glitter, I have one piece of advice: don’t. It never, ever goes away. You find it in your hair or specks still glittering on your face weeks after you use it, making it the perfect way to tick off your enemy.

After just 24 hours, the creative website went viral. It had more than tens of thousands of dollars in sales and had to temporarily shut down from the overwhelming traffic. The creator and owner of the site, Matthew Carpenter, has already said he is ready to sell due to its popularity.  Although you can’t currently order the glitter bombs, stay tuned for the website to get back up and running.  But, be sure to use with caution, because you never know who might have it out for you.
