Packing For Your Spring Break Destination

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

It’s that time again ladies- Spring Break is here!

Whether you’re planning a fabulous getaway with your besties or a trip with the fam, here are some essentials every college girl needs.

If you’re going on a beach vacation you’ll need…

1.     One pair of dependable flip flops2.     A few pairs of sandals for going out to dinner, shopping or whatever! It’s always good to have these to dress things up a little.3.     An oversized beach tote4.     Sunscreen to keep yourself from looking like a lobster. Nothing can ruin cute vaca pics like a Rudolph-esque nose.5.     A pair of sunglasses6.     A cover-up7.     Sundresses, several of them.8.     Wedges, because they’re great for going out at night and typically tend to be more comfortable than other heels.9.     Good reading material. Nothing like a juicy beach read to keep you occupied while you sip a cocktail and soak up the sun!

If you’re visiting a city you’ll need…

1.     A wear-everywhere jacket (think leather or a peacoat, depending on your destination). It keeps the bulk down for what you have to pack and saves space in your suitcase.2.     A camera to take pictures of all the sights.3.     Comfortable shoes. Chances are if you’re visiting a city, you’ll be doing lots of walking.4.     An across the body bag to ward off any potential pickpockets!5.     A few nice outfits for dinners out.6.     Some type of map, or navigation app, because chances are you’ll need it.

P.S. If the city you’re visiting does not share your native language, make sure you have some way to translate and understand the language. The Google Translate app is easy to use and it’s free!
