This Article Contains Spoilers for Euphoria, Season 2.

After a long wait, HBO Max’s hit show Euphoria is back for season two. Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, and new cast member, Dominic Fike, are just some among the many cast members who are back for this season. There are eight episodes total that air weekly on Sundays at 9 PM, which is now deemed as “Euphoria Day.”

One thing that sets this season apart from the first is the soundtrack. Season one debuted Labrinth’s unreal music, and this season he has created even more outstanding songs. In addition to Labrinth’s music, this season has featured songs from different genres, eras, decades, and styles that somehow work very well. There have been so many songs featured in the five episodes that have been aired so far, but today I am going to tell you some of my favorites from this season.

The first episode of this season is quite eventful. In addition to the incredible cinematography, the music choice is #elite. This episode is one of my favorites in terms of the music choice with songs including:

  • “I Want Action” – Poison
  • “Hit Em Up” – 2Pac
  • “Right Down The Line” – Gerry Rafferty
  • “Dirty Work” – Steely Dan
  • “Dead of Night” – Orville Peck

Episode 2 is where the show starts to get wild. Nate is in the hospital, Kat is having relationship issues, and we thankfully get more Lexi and Fez screen time. This episode did not feature nearly as much music as the first, but the music choice was still top-tier. Here are my favorites:

  • “Live or Die” – Noah Cyrus, Lil Xan
  • “Come Rain or Shine” – Judy Garland
  • “WTF Are We Talking For” – Labrinth

Episode 3 was quite a turning point in the season. A lot happens, but something that everybody can not stop talking about is the opening – Cal Jacob’s back story. I knew the music was going to be excellent for this episode when it started out with “Mystify” by INIX. While I could go on and on about the opening for this episode, I will share my favorite songs instead:

  • “The Look” – Roxette
  • “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” – Lenny Kravitz
  • “Como La Flor” – Selena
  • “If” – Jo Stafford

Episode 4 has been a fan-favorite this season. The music in this episode was unreal and featured two new Labrinth songs, most notably “I’m Tired” which he sings live during a beautiful and haunting scene with Rue. Cal visits the bar he met Derek in and dances to Sinéad O’Connor’s “Drink Before The War.” There were so many great songs in this episode, but here are my favorites:

  • “Summertime/Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child” by Mahalia Jackson
  • “trademark usa” by Baby Keem
  • “Don’t Cha” by The Pussycat Dolls

Episode 5 is the latest episode and there was not much music featured. This episode focused primarily on Rue, showed how horrible her addiction is, and how she has become a completely different person because of it. Although there were several songs featured, here are my favorites:

  • “It Never Rains In Southern California” by Albert Hammond
  • “Fever” by Sharon Cash
  • “What a Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers
