The New Emoji’s are Finally Here!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Finally, the moment we have all been waiting for: Apple has released an update with new iPhone emoji’s! There have been weeks of speculation as to when Apple would release such an update, and months of anticipation as to when there would be a new variety of emoji’s. Some of the new features of this brand new keyboard are as follows:

A New Layout:Thanks to this new update, a user can now conveniently scroll between the pages of emoji’s in one swift swipe. There is no longer the “inconvenience” of having to select a new tab for each genre of icons they would like to use.

Multiple Skin-Tones:Unlike before, a user can now change the skin tone of most of the “people” emoji’s. This new feature allows anyone to use whichever skin tone or figure he or she will like and it really only makes sense this way.

Multiple-Gendered Parents:The status quo has now been broken. The new update allows an individual to see every single combination of males and females in a family. There are now same-gendered parents available with both male and female children, proving that there is not one single option that is inferior to any other.

Some Simple New Additions:After scrolling through the emoji options, I have realized that there are a few new additions to the collection. Many of the icons are also now larger, making it easier to see the figure that Apple is attempting to display.

Still waiting for a Stag emoji though, Apple! Maybe next time…
