Recently, Spotify released the name of its most streamed song ever, and it may take you by surprise. No, it’s not one of Justin Bieber’s new hits. It’s not One Direction or Beyoncé either. And it isn’t Adele’s new record-breaking song “Hello”. Are you stumped yet?

Don’t get me wrong- I enjoy this song- but I never expected it to be #1 on Spotify. Previously, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” held the title of most streamed, which makes sense, considering that it held a spot in the U.K.’s Top 40 for a whole year. Despite never hitting the top charts in the U.S. or U.K., “Lean On”, which was released this year, has over 526M plays across the globe. Nicki Minaj and Rihanna turned down this hit, but maybe that was a blessing in disguise since it just fine without them.
