Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth Call It Quits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Grab the tissues, Bachelor fans! The Bachelorette’s beloved Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth have called it quits. The former power couple has now joined the ranks of the many failed relationships from the dating franchise. The couple had found love on season 11 of The Bachelorette. After the show, they were together for three years, making them the Bachelor universe’s longest-running engaged couple. However, Bristowe and Booth have claimed they have grown apart and are not well matched anymore.

The couple released a joint statement saying, “This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends. We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways.”

Kaitlyn and Shawn’s split should not come as a surprise, though. Last June, rumors about their wedding made news. The couple was thinking about having a ceremony in Hawaii. However, that plan did not end up working out. Kaitlyn had mentioned that they were “going backwards” with their planning. Shawn then later commented, “I can understand why couples break up.” It is with these comments that fans began to see the unraveling of their relationship.

We hope that Kaitlyn and Shawn find happiness in their future, even if it is not together. Bachelor nation will sure miss Kaitlyn and Shawn’s sweet, sarcastic, and playful relationship.
