Keeping it classic as always, J. Crew’s creative director Jenna Lyons brought us exactly what we needed for a fall 2015 collection – bright, wearable clothing that is reminiscent of the 1960’s Mod Era. J. Crew’s vibrant, jewel toned colors and faux fur pieces have fashion lovers excited for the fall season. When compared to other designer’s collections this year, such as Michael Kors (http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/19/new-york-fashion-week-calvin-klein-fall-winter-2015/), which was dark and vampy, J. Crew stood out.
For collegiettes especially, J. Crew is an important collection to look out for because its clothing is much more affordable and accessible compared to high end designers like Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta. This year’s collection had pieces ranging in prices from $200 to $3,200, which isn’t too bad when you are looking to splurge on high fashion pieces. And the fact that J. Crew’s pieces are very wearable allows shoppers to mix and match pieces to create many different looks.
I have always been a fan of J. Crew, their effortlessly chic styles have me coming back season after season. While a little bit pricy, their clothes are excellent quality and well worth every penny.
My favorite outfit of the entire collection was the perfect mix of classic and modern – it featured a cobalt blue midi skirt, a pink sweater, and white pumps to complete the look. Although unexpectedly paired, the bright colors are youthful and bright, perfect for any collegiette who wants to look professional.
We can’t wait to see what else J. Crew has in store for 2015!
