IT’S FINALLY FALL! 5 FALL ACTIVITIES TO DO AROUND FAIRFIELD

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

The leaves are changing color, a chill is starting to fill the air, and Gilmore Girls is on repeat, which can only mean one thing – it’s finally fall! Connecticut is known for having a great fall season and in Fairfield especially, there are a vast amount of activities to do. Here are 5 fall activities to do around Fairfield.

  1. Silverman’s Farm

Less than a 20 minute drive from campus, this Apple Orchard is open 7 days a week and offers delicious treats such as apple cider donuts. They also offer an animal farm and scenic tractor rides. If you’re looking for a fun fall activity, this is definitely the place for you.

  1. Sleeping Giant State Park

If you’re looking for a good hike, Sleeping Giant State Park is the place to go. About a 30 minute drive from campus, this is a good activity for those who like fitness and adventure. From the top of the mountain, you’re able to see an abundance of trees and fall foliage.

  1. Fright Haven

If you’re feeling brave enough to explore a haunted house, Fright Haven is the place to go. Located in Stratford, which is about 20 minutes away, Fright Haven is an indoor haunted attraction with different rooms, each giving a bigger scare than the next. As you walk through, you’ll encounter zombies, ghosts, and other creatures that will make you jump. For the thrill seekers out there, Fright Haven is the place to go.

  1. Greenfield Hill Farmers Market

Every Saturday till the end of October, the Greenfield Hills Farmers Market is open to the public with a variety of food products, gifts, and flowers. This market offers vendors who aim to support local farmers. From fresh produce to seasonal vegetables, this market offers plenty of options for delicious food and is a great way to spend your Saturday morning.

  1. Fairfield Restaurant Week

Although not specifically a fall activity, Restaurant Week is still a fun event going on this fall. From October 23rd- November 5th, restaurants around Fairfield offer special meal deals and menu items. Some of my favorite restaurants that are participating are The Sinclair, The Gray Goose, and Little Pub. Be sure to check out all the fine dining Fairfield has to offer!

If you’re looking for fun fall activities to do or just want to get off campus, be sure to check these out!
