Introducing Target’s Plus Size Line

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Target recently announced its launch of a new plus-size clothing line, Ava & Viv.  Joshua Thomas, a Target spokesman, stated that “[Target] has been working on [the clothing line] for a year now” [ Via Today]

Currently, Target carries women’s clothing up to a size 18. Ava & Viv will carry sizes up to 26 and 4X, with prices affordably ranging from $10-$80. The new line features wardrobe basics and trendy items that will can function as basics or statement pieces in your wardrobe. This line will also feature original artwork created by the in-house designers.

In addition to hiring designers to work specifically on this line, Target also hired three well-known plus-size fashion bloggers, Gabi Gregg, Nicolette Mason, and Chastity Garner, to provide feedback on the collection.

This new line of clothing will appear in some stores beginning in mid-February, and the plus-size line will be launched across the nation through the end of March. For those who can’t wait, the entire line of clothing can be seen online on Target.com on February 22nd.

Women of all sizes deserve to have basic and trendy fashion pieces at their fingertips. Fashion is about looking and feeling good about yourself no matter what size clothing you wear. With the addition of these new sizes, Target is now able to appeal to an even larger customer base. We can’t wait to see the entire Ava & Viv collection next month!

I dream of eating waffles with Amy Poehler and climbing to the top of Corporate America specifically in the fashion industry. Amy P hasn't responded to my emails, so in the meantime, I'm your typical college student who is majoring in Accounting. I'm a self-proclaimed Diet Coke and Twitter addict and I will never go a day without them. I hate the gym so don't look for me there.
