How to Dress for Point Days

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Point Day season is quickly approaching, so here is a guide of some of the different outfits you may find at Fairfield Beach. Make sure to save your favorite for Clam Jam!

Flowy Skirts

Pair a simple crop top with a flowy colored skirt. If you are worried about the breeze coming from the Sound you can always wear an over sized summer sweater to keep you warm.

Maxi Skirts

A popular and comfortable style for a Point Day is maxi skirts. Maxi skirts are great because they can be paired with either a crop top or a regular t-shirt. If you want to keep it simple, wear a solid color skirt. If you‘re looking to go bold wear a printed maxi skirt but make sure to pair it with a solid colored top like the one pictured below!

Exuma Pants

A HUGE trend this season is Exuma Pants. These pants are fun, stylish and comfortable and they are perfect for a day at the beach! Get them in a fun print that you love and pair them with a simple tight or flowy top.  Add accessorizes, such as a long necklace, to complete the look

Short Dresses

If you are not into trying out current trends, go for something that will never go out of style such as a short spring dress. You can mix up your style a little bit by wearing high low dress that is airy and perfect for the.

Shorts

If you love wearing shorts instead of a skirt or dress ditch your denim cutoffs and go for the dressier ones. You can find these types of shorts in all different patterns and styles. The best part is you can mix the shorts with all different tops and add statement necklaces to make your look pop!

Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses are the perfect trend that you can never go wrong with wearing for a Point Day. The style is super summery, comfortable and cute! Everyone loves a maxi dress and they look amazing in pictures with the Long Island Sound as your background. They are also one of our favorites because of all the styles and patterns they come in!

Eyelet

Anything eyelet is a great trend for a Point Day. Eyelet is classy, chic and trendy. Try eyelet shorts paired with a colorful top or an eyelet dress. The best part about eyelet is that it is simple so you can add fun accessorizes, such as a cute fedora- be bold ladies!

Romper

Rompers are my favorite go-to outfit for a day at the beach. They come in long sleeve, strapless, patterned, bright colors either way you can’t go wrong!. Rompers are easy to wear, comfortable and trendy. You can wear one with your favorite sandal and simple jewelry.

When you’re getting ready in the morning, here are some of the different accessories you can wear to complement your look!

Headband

Sunglasses

Cross Body Bag

Chunky Necklace

Hats

Spending a full day at the beach could be tough for your hair. Here are some styles that can help keep your hair looking polished while outside in the heat all day.

Beachy Waves

Pony Tail
