Fashion Feature: Show Your State Pride

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Move over monograms, a new necklace trend is stealing the show.  It’s no secret that Fairfield girls love their initials, but it’s time to refresh our necklace choices and display some love for our states and hometowns. BaubleBar introduced a line of Acrylic State Pendant necklaces, and I’m obsessed. Every state can be ordered and there are 30 color choices to choose from such as cobalt blue, tortoise shell, hot pink, ruby red and pearl white. But wait, it gets better! You can take the customizing to the next level by adding either a star or heart shaped cutout over your city.  I ordered my necklace in August to represent Westport, Connecticut and I couldn’t be happier with my tiny tangerine colored CT pendant.

I can’t begin to tell you how many people have stopped me to ask about my necklace, since they’ve never seen anything like it. For $48 these acrylic state necklaces make great gifts for all ages (my 13-year-old sister rocks a CT cutout and so does my 44-year-old mom). This is the new and improved monogram; it’s edgy and different yet still simple enough to wear with almost any outfit.  Go ahead and show off your sate pride!
