Eye-Catching Looks from the 2023 BAFTAS

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Here is some insight into the most eye-catching looks (IMO) from the 2023 BAFTAS.

  1. Florence Pugh

This look was eye-catching to me for two reasons. One was of the beautiful ruffled orange Nina Ricci gown. The other being Florence Pugh’s hairstyle matched the ruffles of her gown. I think that’s a really impressive attention to detail that isn’t really shown.

  1. Barry Keoghan

Barry Keoghan wore a red Alexander McQueen suit, which suited his complexion well. I also think that his red suit stood out in what is usually a sea of black suits. In Esquire’s “The Best-Dressed Men At The Baftas 2023”, he’s one of two men not wearing black, the other being Martin Freeman (Esquire).

  1. Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner debuted a new hairstyle on the red carpet, curtain bangs, and I’m honestly one more celeb photo away from getting them myself (Vogue). Sophie Turner’s black lace Louis Vuitton dress, with its different size jewels patterned throughout, is eye-catching and beautiful.

  1. Jodie Turner-Smith

Jodie Turner-Smith’s look was beautiful! From her lilac Gucci feathered gown, to the Swarovski crystal freckles, and stunning lilac eyeshadow, her look was quite literally eye-catching. (Hello!) Makeup artist Joey Choy posted a video on Instagram that showed how sparkly Turner-Smith’s dress and makeup were.

  1. Anya Taylor-Joy

I had to mention Anya-Taylor Joy’s Schiaparelli brown velvet mini dress and shawl, which unfortunately made the Daily Mail’s “Worst Dressed” list at the BAFTAs. The dress alone I think is really cute, but the shawl just reminds me of wrapping a fleece blanket around myself to sit on the couch and rewatch New Girl for the twentieth time. I think the color looks good on her, and there are some pictures of her without the shawl which makes the ensemble look so much better.
