Collegiettes, classes are winding down and stress at an all-time high, May is the perfect time to have the Met Gala to get everyone excited. If you thought last year was a success than this year is going to blow your mind! After Rihanna shut down the red carpet with her iconic papal look from 2018, there are high expectations for the event that will take place on May 6th. The theme for this year is “Camp: Notes on Fashion” which has left a lot of people scratching their heads. Andrew Bolton, aka the person who runs the ~Met Gala~ with Anna Wintour, explained to the New York Times “whether it’s pop camp, queer camp, high camp, or political camp—Trump is a very camp figure—I think it’s very timely.”

You can expect a LOT of Gucci at this year’s event as Gucci’s own creative director Alessandro Michele will be a co-chair alongside Serena Williams, Anna Wintour, Lady Gaga and none other than Harry Styles himself. Yes ladies, I said Harry Styles, aka the love of my life, will be attending the Met Gala. If his Gucci September 2018 campaign with baby farm animals wasn’t enough, then we can’t wait to see what he will bring the infamous red carpet. Vogue has reported that 200 pieces of men’s clothing, women’s clothing, sculptures and more will be featured which is 50 more ensembles than last year’s Heavenly Bodies exhibit. Hopefully the pieces featured will be just as loud and over-the-top as last year, but nonetheless, the fashion industry will be thriving.
