Ahh, PDA. You either love it or hate it, but PDA is an inevitable experience. So where exactly is the line between classy and trashy when it comes to PDA? Here are some dos and don’ts to handle PDA like a pro.

1. DO Hug.Hugging is a great way to feel close to your significant other without being all over them. Warning: Hugging in public may cause audible “awwww’s” from those around you.

2. DON’T Get touchy. We’ve all had the displeasure of witnessing a butt grab in public. Do I look away? Stare? Call the police? Getting touchy in public makes everyone uncomfortable. Save those moments for somewhere private.

3. DO Hold Hands.Holding hands is a sweet and modest method of affection in public. So go ahead and hold hands in public! Show everyone that the cutie standing next to you is all yours!

4. DON’T Be that obnoxious couple in the movie theater. Here you are, just trying to enjoy a casual rom-com with friends, when your normally unwavering focus on Ryan Gosling is interrupted by the real-life, R-rated romance happening in the seat next you. Please, ladies, keep the PDA PG in the theater…or in any public place for that matter.

5. DO Give a quick kiss when the timing is right. There is nothing wrong with sneaking a quick kiss in public. If kept short and sweet, kissing in public is harmless. The perfect PDA kiss is a result of the right timing, the right place, and the right person.
