The semester is winding down and Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, which means it’s that time of year again. Mistletoe hanging from doorways, ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas on everyone’s TV, and neatly wrapped presents take over our thoughts.
But the holidays aren’t just about presents, sleigh rides, or ugly Christmas sweaters. It’s also about giving back to others and appreciating the little things. Fortunately for collegiettes, it’s easier than you think to do good this holiday season.
It is almost that time of year again. Here are ten ways to make a difference this year:
1. Donate toys to a children’s hospital.
2. Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
3. Sign up for a holiday 5K race that supports a cause.
4. Donate blankets, dog food or toys to an animal shelter.
5. Bake holiday treats to give to a homeless shelter.
6. Give away old clothes to Goodwill.
7. Write heartfelt notes to those that are important to you.
8. Create holiday cards and send them to our troops.
9. Pay for someone’s meal anonymously.
10. Spend time with the elderly at a local retirement home.
Make this holiday season count collegiettes by giving back! Even the simplest thing can make the biggest difference in someone’s life. We can all partake in making the holidays an amazing experience for others. Spread the love!
