Campus Cuties: Swimming and Diving Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of getting to know this charming duo. I finally decided that it was time to stop being selfish and share them with you all. Meet best friends Dan Pires (left.) and Andrew Tavcar (right.).  These friendly, witty, and athletic cuties are pretty much inseparable. You can count on them for a good time.

A: A box of chocolates and Taylor Swift.

HC: What’s your favorite food on campus?

D: Buff-Chick turnover from the Levee

A: Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Chipotle Sauce from the Stag

HC: What’s your biggest pet-peeve?

D: When people chew with their mouth open

A:  Me too, but I also don’t like when people go back on their word.

HC: Celebrity crush?

D: Taylor Swift

A: Might have to fight you on that one Dan, I love Taylor Swift.

HC: Best pickup line?

A: I got this one! Are there 21 letters in the alphabet?

HC: No, there are 26.

A: Oh right, I’m sorry.  I forgot U R A Q T.

Dan: * laughs* I definitely can’t compete with that!

HC: What’s something that most people don’t know about you?

D: I’m an Ordained Minister.

A: I used to be a competitive Irish step dancer back in the day.

HC: Besides swimming and diving, do you like any other sports?

D: Not really

A: Yes, I used to play lacrosse and just recently took up golf.

HC: When did you become interested in swimming and diving?

D: When I was a freshman in high school.

A: Well I used to play a lot of sports, but got cut from everything except swimming. *giggles*

HC: What’s the best thing that has happened to you here at Fairfield?

D: Getting asked to do this interview.  *smiles*

A: Going to Kentucky on a service trip last past Spring Break.

HC: What do you guys look for in a girl?

D: A cute smile and someone who’s confident and funny.

A: Someone who laughs at my jokes, has a sense of humor and likes to smile.

HC: What’s your idea of a perfect date?

D: Going out to a nice dinner and then just a low-key night, maybe watch a movie and just hang out.

A: Well… I would say ice-skating in the winter. I can’t really skate that well but it gives me a reason to hold her hand.

HC: Dan, what’s Andrew’s best attribute?

D: He’s always there for his friends no matter what.

HC: Andrew, describe Dan in three words.

A: Genuine, hilarious and… basic. *both laugh hysterically*
