The Bachelor: Hometown Visits & Meeting Raquel

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

If you’ve tuned in to The Bachelor this season, or gone on the Internet since January, it’s nearly impossible to have not heard about the contestant that is stirring up all kinds of trouble. This contestant is Corinne Olympios, a 24-year old, “multi-million dollar business owner,” from Miami, Florida. While many of the other contestants were on the younger side, they criticize Corinne for being “emotionally immature” and just immature in general citing her love for naps. Another well-known fact about Corinne is that she has a nanny named Raquel, who takes care of her and makes her cheese pasta.

On the most recent episode of The Bachelor, Nick Viall got to visit each of the remaining contestants’ hometowns, for a special date and to meet their parents. While each was obviously drama-filled and ended up with Nick crying (of course), Corinne’s was unlike any other date seen in Bachelor history, due to several reasons:

  1. No other contestant has ever had their “nanny” meet and question the bachelor himself (nor has anyone ever had a nanny)

2. No other contestant has ever planned a date that showed so little of their hometown, yet so much of their personality

3. No other contestant has had a hometown date where they spent over $3,000 on anything; let alone clothing for the bachelor.   …And although Corinne may be the most dramatic contestant, each of the remaining contestants hometown visits were nothing short of dramatic…

Raven nearly got Nick and herself arrested, luckily the cop turned out to be her brother.
