Anna Dello Russo: Street Style Icon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Iconic Vogue Japan’s editor-at-large and creative consultant, Anna Dello Russo, is a true street style aficionado in the fashion world. Dello Russo has been featured as a style muse in a number of influential magazines and blogs, such as the Huffington Post and W Magazine. She has also been described as a “fashion maniac” and shoe addict, owning over 4,000 pairs of shoes!  Recently, Anna partnered with H&M to design a collection of affordable accessories inspired by her love of jewelry and embellishment. Anna is a maximalist, bringing fashion to new extremes in her work and in her lifestyle. She embraces bold and eccentric trends and she does not hesitate to take the designer right off the runway and onto the streets of cities and countries all over the world. Here are some of her top street style moments.

Dello Russo was spotted wearing a mini cheetah dress with fringe and braided accents. She made her dress and chunky gold accessories the focal points of the look by keeping her hair polished in an intricate, braided updo.

Anna wore this glamorous, Baroque floral Dolce & Gabbana mini dress with a coordinating bag at Milan Fashion Week. Dello Russo also added quirky sunglasses, which are a staple in most of her looks. From cheetah to floral, it is evident she loves to play with different patterns. Before working for Vogue Japan, she spent eighteen years working as fashion editor for Vogue Italia.

At another fashion week event, Dello Russo wore a bejeweled Fausto Puglisi dress. The detailing is beautiful on this white cutout mini. Anna chose to ad more detailing by incorporating bold, cat-eye sunglasses and gold bangles as well as  fun strappy heels to bring out the bohemian aspects on the dress.

This tailored suit Dello Russo wore shows off her love of ornate design, and the metallic coloring is on trend for fall fashion.

Anna shows us who the queen of fashion is in this beautiful pink Oscar de la Renta gown. The embellished suitcase and the accessories she is wearing were some of the first items she sold in her collection at H&M.

Dello Russo wore Roksanda Ilincic’s feathered jacket, which was on Vogue India’s February 2011 cover; she turned heads in the bold and daring look. The raised feather detailing in the shoulders adds a regal and luxurious effect to the outfit.

Ponchos are another staple trend for the fall. Anna keeps it simple in her last look with black boots, a white sweater and gold accessories.
