This Wednesday, Her Campus hosted an alumni panel featuring three of our alumni. We were joined by Amanda McKelvey, Katherine Mazzotta, and Emma Krosky. All of them said that being in Her Campus has helped them get to where they are now! Being in Her Campus gives you valuable skills and employers realize that. Her Campus is nationally recognized and an employer will know that you are doing real, tangible work. They also recognize that you are gaining organizational skills and knowledge on how to work across teams by being a part of Her Campus. Simply being in the club is putting you a step ahead.

The other biggest thing mentioned by our panelists is the alumni network here at Fairfield! Fellow Stags are almost always willing to chat, put in a good word, and just help you out in any way they can. Utilizing the career advisors here at Fairfield can help get you in touch with our outstanding alumni network.

Our last piece of advice is to chill out! You do not need a job lined up for after graduation. Depending on your field, interviewing and the hiring process can wait until after you graduate. It is also totally okay to take your summer after you graduate to relax! A job offer will come even if you start the process a bit late. There is no need to compare yourself to classmates and friends. Just do what is right for you and follow your own path.

As mentioned often by our panelists, Fairfield offers you support. Whether it is the alumni network, the career office, or being a part of the Her Campus club, you are prepared and have the resources for your field.
