8 New Girl Quotes to Live By

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

With the semester coming to an end and finals right around the corner, we all could definitely use some motivational words (or a de-stressing facial, full body massage and 6 espressos). I know that I will be religiously binge watching New Girl throughout the next couple of weeks to (hopefully) get myself through the dreaded final season.  Aside from being quite possibly the funniest/best show on the planet, the characters of New Girl offer some pretty top-notch advice that just might be extremely beneficial to all of us right now.

1. When life gets you down, and trust me—it happens to the best of us—just remember to never stop trying; you got this! Whether it be school related or not, never stop trying until you reach your goal; it will all be worth it in the end.

2. School/ life is stressful so please, do yourself a favor and just sing it out! You’re guaranteed to feel 500x better if you do! (Also, totally disregard any confused looks you may receive from those around you.)

3. Preach Jess! Don’t ever feel the need to change who you are just because someone wants you to or because you want to ‘fit in.’ Stay true to yourself and everything will work out from there!

4. Always remember to be yourself! Everyone is weird in his or her own unique way, shape, and form. So, embrace that weirdness and show your true colors! The world could use a little more spunk.

5. Sure, we can run away from our problems and challenges, but there will always be new ones along the road. We might as well learn to deal with them now so that things will be better later on.

6. Pretty sure everyone has this reaction to the sight of food. I mean, come on—need I say more? Tip for surviving finals: binge eat ice cream, it will make the pain of studying hurt a bit less.

7. Sometimes “Schmidt happens” –we all need to remember this, simple as that.

8. At the end of the day, it is ~totally~ socially acceptable to want to crawl into your bed, listen to Taylor Swift, and down a tub of Ben and Jerrys. Totally normal. Honestly, you’ve definitely earned it.
