7 Tips for An Awesome Friendsgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, which means Friendsgiving is basically tomorrow! If you haven’t started planning your Friendsgiving yet, here are 7 tips to make sure your meal goes smoothly.

1.Choose a day that works for ~almost~ everyone:

Even if you can’t choose a day that works for everyone try to get as many of your friends to celebrate.

2.Friendsgiving doesn’t have to be a dinner:

Make your Friendsgiving into a brunch/lunch or just do whatever works best for your group.

3.Plan ahead:

Make sure you decide in advance who is bringing what. You don’t want to end up having all side salads and no main dish!

4.You don’t have to make classic Thanksgiving foods:

You don’t have to stick to Turkey! If it’s easier to make pasta or order takeout, that’s fine too! All that matters is that you and your friends share a nice meal together.

5.Look at your friends, not your phone:

Don’t have your phone at the table. You’re there to spend quality time with them.

6.Bring to-go containers!

If everyone brings a dish, there is sure to be leftovers. Make sure you have some storage containers on hand, so your extra food doesn’t go to waste!

7.Turn your meal into a whole night or day:

You don’t have to limit your Friendsgiving. Plan some fun activities for your friends to do together. Watch a movie, play games, go for a hike! Just spend some quality time with your friends.

Whatever you do for Friendsgiving, just remember to be thankful for your friends!
