Family weekend is approaching, and that means finding fun things to do that everyone in your family will enjoy. There are a variety of things to do both on and off campus, so here are a few fun examples.
1.Taste of Fairfield
Located in the Rafferty Stadium parking lot, the Taste of Fairfield will be an event you don’t want to miss. Here, you and your family can purchase food vouchers and sample menus from a variety of Fairfield restaurants and food trucks. Taste of Fairfield is from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on October 24th. Some food vendors include Old Post Tavern, Freshii, Taco Loco, and Sugar Bakery.
2. Beer Garden
For those of you who are of the legal drinking age, you and your parents can have fun walking through the Beer Garden at the Rafferty Stadium lot.
3.Sporting Events on Campus
Throughout the course of the weekend, there will be various sports games going on. Have fun cheering on your fellow Stags with your family at the Men’s Rugby Match on October 24th at 10 a.m., or the Men’s Soccer game at 7 p.m.
4. FUSA Concert
For a fun packed afternoon that everyone in your family will love, take them to the fall concert: The Tempations featuring Dennis Edwards and Matt and Kim.
5. Shopping in Westport
For something you, your mom, or sister will have fun doing, head to the town of Westport for some shopping. Westport is only a quick drive, and has great shops for everyone in the fam. Stores include, Urban Outfitters, Brandy Melville, Loft, Banana Republic, Gap and so much more!
6. Dinner/Lunch in Town
If Taste of Fairfield or the Continental Breakfast in Barone doesn’t meet your standards, take your family into town to one of the many restaurants on Post Road. There are restaurants for all cravings including Plan B Burger, Colony Grill, Firehouse Deli, and Wild Rice.
7.Apple/Pumpkin Picking at Silverman’s Farm
If you haven’t participated in this #basic activity already this fall, head to Silverman’s farm for some pumpkin and apple picking. It’s a great place for a family photo-op, and might make for the perfect Christmas card.
