Ever had to touch up your makeup so many times that by the end of the night your full face of makeup looks clown-like? Well not anymore. All girls want to do is look fabulous at all times. I mean honestly, is that too much to ask? I think not. These five tips and tricks aren’t just going to make your makeup apply better and last longer; they are going to upgrade your Instagram selfies from cute to gorgeous.

Tip 1. SKIN

Exfoliate your face before you apply your makeup if you’re going to be out partying and having a blast with your girls. You want your skin to look glowing in all the snapchats that are bound to go up on social media. Make sure that after you exfoliate you apply a good moisturizer. It doesn’t matter if you’re oily or dry.

Trick: A quick trick if you’re out of your favorite exfoliator an easy trick is to mix some oatmeal and coconut oil together and blend until it’s a thick paste. Then you have your very own organic face mask/exfoliator.

Tip 2. PRIMER

Make sure you apply a primer depending on your skin type. For oily skin try Hourglass Mineral Veil. It gives a great finish to the skin and it lasts all day. A drugstore alternative would be L’Oreal Miracle Blur. It’s not really a primer but it does the job!

Trick: A quick trick to use less foundation but get more coverage is to set your moisturizer and primer with a loose setting powder. Translucent or something with a little color is fine. Just dust a light layer over your primer and then apply foundation. Trust me. You’ll have an angelic glow all of your friends will be wishing for.

Tip 3. FOUNDATION

Get a nice longwearing foundation. Some great options are Estee Lauder Double Wear or Make Up Foever HD. They both photograph beautifully. If you’re looking for something on the cheaper side than go with Revlon Color Stay or L’Oreal True Match. Both of these foundations are full coverage and long lasting, but they won’t break the bank.

Trick: A great way to turn a drugstore foundation into a bottle of gold is to add any face or body oil to it. Just add a single drop, mix it in, and then you have your new secret weapon.

Tip 4. POWDER

Always set your makeup with a powder. It’s going ensure that it doesn’t slide all over the place and stays put. A powder is always good to have around just incase you need a little touch up here and there.

Trick: When you set your powder use a puff or sponge. Roll it onto the skin and add a little pressure. It helps the powder really lock in the foundation to ensure you get the most longevity out of it.

Tip 5. SETTING SPRAY

A great setting spray is a great thing to have on hand. It’s going to lock in all of your hard work to ensure that the masterpiece you created doesn’t budge. I swear by MAC Fix Plus+ it has a way of making your makeup look like skin. Another great one is Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

Trick: Another good way to keep your foundation from budging is to use setting spray on your brush or your makeup sponge to work the product into the skin, leaving you with a flawless application.

All of the tips and tricks have truly helped me over the years and most of my friends agree that they really change your entire makeup routine. Once you try them you’ll be hooked. I promise you’ll be the one everybody is asking to do their makeup for the next girls night out!
