5 Climate Justice Activists You NEED to follow on Social Media

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

As the climate worsens, Gen Z and Millennials have taken to social media to spread awareness and garner support, asking millions to sign petitions, call lawmakers, and raise money for certain causes.

Activists that people should definitely keep an eye out for are taking the world by storm, delivering speeches, making sustainable clothing, and offering sustainable or greener alternatives to anything you could dream of.

These activists work tirelessly to combat an issue that many do not even believe is real, so it’s essential that we follow them and help them with their work if we want to save the earth. That is why I’ve selected five astonishing activists that you need to follow immediately.

  1. Starting off with number 1, we have the young, the amazing, and the show-stopping… GRETA THUNBERG.

  1. Next, we have one of my personal favorites, Alex Haraus.

@alex.haraus

He’s recently been covering the Willow Project on TikTok. Haraus has encouraged millions of people to sign petitions and contact policymakers about stopping the Willow Project, which goes against all of Biden’s promises.

  1. Number 3 is Josh Helfgott, another TikTok climate justice activist.

@joshhelfgott

While he advocates for a myriad of rights, including gay and trans rights, he primarily delivers news about huge events going on without the general public’s knowledge.  Oftentimes, they’re climate injustices, including the Willow Project.

  1. Number 4 is @save.tthe.earth on TikTok.

This account advocates for environmental policy change by creating immensely moving videos about the death of animals and the destruction of our earth.

  1. Finally, number 5 of the best climate justice activists to follow is Seth Thomas.

@zethdafer

He highlights humans’ numerous impacts on different animals and how we can reverse those effects.

As our earth is changing because of the negative impacts of humans, it’s important to learn as much as possible to fix it. Following these activists is just the first step in many. We all have to do our part to save Mother Earth. Go out and inspire others to do the same!
