The 5 Best Things About Awards Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

The 2016 Awards Season has been upon us for a little while now, but the Super Bowl of award shows, the Oscars, is up next!! Most of us are watching to find out if Leo will FINALLY win his Academy Award, but there are a lot of other things to look forward to this awards season. Here are a few reasons why you should tune in:

1.The Fashion

Let’s be honest, most of us are watching just to see what celebs are going to wear on the red carpet. We make our own mental best and worst dressed list. We can’t see what stars like Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o will be rocking on the red carpet this year.

2. The Celebs

Did someone say Leo? Emma Stone? Jennifer Lawrence? We watch to see our favorite celebs too. As I said, the world is waiting for Leo to win his Oscar. I can already see the world’s reaction if he finally does win or the disappointment fans will face if he is left empty-handed. We also love to see the different interactions made amongst our fav celebrity besties.

3. The Speeches

It’s so exciting to see who wins a shiny award, but even more exciting to see what the winners have to say. Their speeches can make you laugh, cry, inspire you, or sometimes confuse you. Check out some memorable speeches here!

4. The Hosts

The opening act of an Awards Show really sets the mood for the night. Who could forget Ellen’s epic Oscar selfie or when she handed out pizza to the audience? Or Tina and Amy at the Golden Globes? They always kill it!!

5. The Red Carpet

The funniest interviews, most awkward moments, and cutest pics all originate from the red carpet. Plus, you get to see all the hottest stars dressed to the nines. So many networks are there before the show starts; it’s the pregame of award shows.

Who else loves Awards Season??
