4 Fun Things to Do Over Spring Break If You Aren’t Going on Vacation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Let’s be real spring break is an exciting time! Am I right?  When we think of spring break, tropical beaches, beautiful resorts, and fabulous parties tend to come to mind. Unfortunately, if you have been too wrapped up in school to plan an elaborate vacation with your friends, or you are trying to save your money this year, spring break can be a little disappointing. Who needs Punta Cana or the Bahamas anyways?  Here are 4 activities that won’t break the bank this spring break!

1. Take a day or two to start and finish a new Netflix series that you’ve always wanted to watch, but never had time for in school. Go to the store and get a bunch of your favorite snacks, or order take out from your favorite place! Make the most out of your binge-watching!

2. Take a drive or a train (depending on how close you live) to your nearest city! The parts of your city that you visit regularly may not be exciting anymore, but every city has so much to take advantage of! Invite a friend, or bring a family member, and go to all the places tourists go to when they come to your city. Check out a show, play, museum, or go to a sporting event when you are there. To top off your day, find a restaurant to go to in your city that you have never tried before!

3. Spend a day shopping and treat yourself! Not feeling taking a trip all the way to the mall, do some online shopping from the comfort of your own home. Don’t forget to look out for sales!

4. You may not be showing off your body on a tropical beach somewhere this spring break, but why not take the week to get a jump start on your summer #bod! Sign up for a few local Soul Cycle classes or get a gym membership for the week and grind ladies!
