14 Gift Ideas for Valentines/Galentines from 14 FFLD Girls

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Happy almost Love Day!!!

As someone who has already bought HERSELF six Valentine’s Day gifts, and her boyfriend two, I feel as though this Valentine’s Day is for the girls, specifically the ones of Fairfield U.

I have officially dubbed this February 14th: Fairfield Girls’ F-ing Love Day!!!

Enough of $7 chocolate and “hanging” on V-day, c’mon Fairfield fellas (or whatever your prerogative) PUT IN SOME EFFORT. Anyway, I asked 14 lovely ladies their “dream” Valentine’s Day gift/gesture that would blow them away.

  1. MC: “Non Toxic Men”

Terrific Start. Valid. Love it.

  1. CH: “Definitely some sort of surprise. Whether it was flowers, a spontaneous night out, take me out to a movie, just let him plan it himself!”

We LOVE a man that puts in effort.

  1. KS: “The perfect Valentine’s gift I’d like to receive is flowers and a card. You can never go wrong with a big bouquet!! I always save all the cards I get from my boyfriend🤓”

Amaze.

  1. AW: “A bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note” 🥰

Love notes >>

  1. WM: “I don’t like Valentine’s Day that much because I think it’s a little superficial so I would want something inexpensive but thoughtful.”

SO valid.

  1. VR: “Flowers and Chocolate”

Love it.

  1. PL: “Love & Affection”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

  1. DG: “A man”

Love it- but GALENTINES!

  1. “HG: I would want to spend a surprise weekend at a spa!”

Relaxing and Romantic!!!

  1. SS:  “G Wagon”

Ambitious, Manifest it!

  1. MD: “A puppy!!!”

👏👏👏

  1. JH: “Flowers, a note, and dinner. I’d rather have something from the heart than something super expensive.”

THIS.  10/10

  1. MC: Handwritten note, flowers, and dinner.

Adore this.

  1. EE: “I’m a big fan of a simple handwritten card and some chocolate. My favorite gift I’ve received was a giant teddy bear!”

We LOVED a stuffed bear.

Amongst these fourteen answers the most popular seems to be some sort of handwritten card or note, and flowers. Say it again with me, IT IS THE THOUGHT (& Effort) THAT COUNTS. I feel as though the meaning and feelings behind the gift or gesture makes it worthwhile.

This Valentine’s Day, treat yourself, your friends, your mom, your partner. Keep in mind the little gestures and affections!

Happy Love Day!

Xoxo,

MK
