10 Reasons Why Your Dog Is Truly Your Best Friend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

If you scroll through my Twitter, Instagram or Facebook feed, you are guaranteed to find a ridiculous amount of posts/pictures about my dog. It’s safe to say that I prefer my dog to most humans—what’s not to love? A dog may be man’s best friend, but they are a woman’s soul mate for several, very truthful reasons.

1. Your dog will never judge you. They could care less if haven’t showered or you’re wearing the same sweats for the third day in a row—they love you regardless.

2. Dogs are always down to cuddle. Having a snuggle buddy on call 24/7 might be the best thing ever.

3. Your dog won’t criticize your cooking. In fact, they’re pretty happy with whatever you feed them. Plus they love to eat as just much as you do—if not more. Needless to say, you never have to eat a meal alone.

4. Dogs are forever loyal. They love you unconditionally—even if you don’t share your food with them.

5. Your dog is always excited to see you. The second you walk through the door, you’re guaranteed to get tackled and licked to death.

6. Dogs are great listeners. They’re always there when you need to vent. Plus, they won’t interrupt or argue.

7. Those puppy dog eyes beat any blue-eyed boy, no questions asked. Let’s be real, no boy will ever look at you with a more loving look than your dog.

8. Dogs are extremely photogenic. They make for the perfect Instagram posts.

9. Dogs never criticize your driving. They’re too busy sticking their head out the window to care if you just cut someone off or missed a turn.

10. Dogs always have time for you. They will never cancel plans, which means that you always have a friend to accompany you whether you need to run errands or want to hit the beach.
