In a time where it has become harder and harder to find a decent guy with who you have a lot in common with, many of us have begun to turn to dating apps on our smartphones. While this would have seemed bizarre even just a few years ago, it makes total sense to us now. Whether you’re merely looking for a casual hook-up, a date to your sister’s wedding, or maybe a potential boyfriend, there is a dating app for you!
Sure, dating apps and websites have had a bit of a bad rep before, but with so much new technology, it’s honestly a much easier and convenient way to meet a cute guy. So, ladies, here is my (not all-inclusive) list of popular dating apps and what they say about you.
Tinder:
Oh Tinder…you may be the most popularly used app for young adults. While often used on college campuses, most people on Tinder are only looking for some fun. That’s not to say there isn’t anyone who is looking for a potential serious date. Tinder gives a wide array of guys and possible relationships, so by using Tinder it shows you could be open to a lot of different things. Once you match with a guy and start chatting, all of those details can be discussed!
Skout:
This app is a little more intense. You get notifications when your matches are online so you can take advantage of the opportunity and talk to them. You can also “wink” at other users, which adds a little bit of a scandalous edge to this app. Skout is available to users under eighteen, so it shows that you’re looking for more fun and flirty interactions rather than anything serious.
Lulu:
While this may not exactly qualify as a dating app, it certainly is useful! Women can log on and anonymously rate guys they’ve gone out with before and add different hashtags to those guys’ profiles. This way, other girls with the app can see whether or not a guy consistently gets low ratings or is there’s anything specific girl after girl complains about. This is definitely not 100% reliable though, because all it would take is one angry ex and her friends to completely wreck a guy’s profile.
Tingle:
This app is more in the realm of no strings attached sexy fun. Users can call and chat with one another without having to exchange any kind of personal information. An entire interaction between two people can be completely anonymous, which can lead to interesting situations. If you use this app, because aware of what you may be getting yourself into!
OkCupid:
This is the more traditional electronic dating outline. Users set up a profile and are matched with other users who have common interests with them (instead of just by location, as with Tinder). Most people using this app are looking for actual dates who they’re most likely interested in becoming serious with if the chemistry is good.
