Best of Lancaster

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at F and M chapter.

Welcome back to X’s Universe,

This is for all my beautiful stars both on and off campus. I come to you with some incredible news about some wonderful shops here in Lancaster, PA.  Now that we’ve entered mid-term season, the year will soon be over and with formals approaching it’s time for some retail therapy. With that being said I am here to present you with some awesome options other than the mall to go shopping and look glam for your date.

Downtown Lancaster has some very chic and stylistic shops hidden away. King St. is becoming known for its many shops, most of which have recently opened.

That Shuu Girl Boutique (147 E King St.) owned by Nicole Vasquez has a very enjoyable atmosphere at any time of the day.  Their clothing and dresses are very reasonably priced with nothing over one hundred bucks. That’s a bonus for us college students with low running funds. In this boutique you will surely feel like you have your own personal stylist because the workers pay attention to personal style and will help find something perfect for you.  And since Nicole only holds a few pieces of the same item it will be very difficult for someone else to have the same dress as you. Need shoes to go with that amazing dress you are about to purchase? She makes custom shoes! Yes, you could create your own shoes, ones no one else would have. No wonder they call it That Shuu Girl. Oh,and first-time buyers get 40% off! JUST FANTASTIC!

Right next-door from her you can find Sophie Stargazer (149 E King St.) where her dresses are always delightful and charming. You can not only shop dresses here but also can definitely find fun nick-knacks for your room or even a nice present for your incredible date.  You can always count on finding a pretty printed dress there. The owner Kristin Snyder keeps such a cheerful ambiance in the store from the moment you walk in.  The place is filled with such delight it’d be impossible to not fall in love with something in her store.

No outfit is complete without accessories and though you may find accessories at the mentioned fabulous shops, Undone (52 Prince St.) is a boutique of accessories and shoes. Here you will find a variety of accessories and with that you will find something for any outfit you choose to go with. All sorts of metals and styles are available in this vintage like boutique.

So grab your girlfriends and make a day trip into downtown Lancaster to find a your very own outfit for your upcoming formal. Also don’t forget our schools Lancaster Loop takes you downtown every Friday and Saturday so getting downtown won’t be hassle and you won’t have to find parking. I hope you all will find yourself in these absolutely beautiful stores even if it’s not for formal. Find time to explore your local shops and businesses and shake up your typical on campus scenery!

Until next time Estrellas,

Xiara (with an X)
