So you’re thinking, it’s cold, what exercises can I do without schlepping (okay yes I’m a good old fashioned Jewish girl) to the gym. Here are five simple solutions on how to exercise this winter:

1. Do Yoga in Your Room. All you need is a mat and you can easily do some moves in your room! If you’ve taken a yoga class before, you’ll know some moves that are right for your body and that are perfect for you to do.

2. Dance in Your Room/Throw a Dance Party. Want to burn some calories and have some fun with friends? Why not crank up some tunes, have some friends over, and dance your butts off! It’s a good excuse for a workout and some fun.

3. Find Some Online Workout Videos. You’d never need to leave your room when you can watch videos for motivation and help online!

4. Clean Your Room! It’s never too early for spring cleaning, so why not burn some calories doing some cleaning of your room, which is probably a mess by this point in the semester already.

5. Do Your Laundry! Laundry can be a great way to burn some calories, so instead of avoiding that massive pile of laundry in your closet or letting it pile up for forever, go burn some calories and go do your laundry. Your arm muscles might just get some nice tone after lugging all that heavy laundry around.

Along with being the Her Campus Franklin and Marshall Campus Correspondent, I am also the editor-in-chief of Epilogue, F&M's literary Magazine, Staff Writer for The College Reporter, F&M's student newspaper, and a very active member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. When not hard at work, you can find me writing, reading, geeking out over Disney movies with my friends, or doing art projects.
