September 23 marks my 21st birthday, something that I’ve been looking forward to for a bit now, and making me even more of an official adult. That being said, I’d like to share the 21 reasons why I’m hoping this birthday and year will be super awesome and why I’m so excited:

  1. My friends can’t get in trouble anymore for asking me if I’d like to try a drink
  2. I don’t have to say no anymore to my friends offering me a drink
  3. Disney movie marathons with chocolate popcorn and appletinis just got so much better
  4. Maybe now the world will see me as a responsible, mature adult (nope…I’m a college student…probably not happening)
  5. I can enjoy some beautiful unique wineglasses…I feel a collection starting
  6. I can now proudly proclaim I am 21 at events that card
  7. Maybe now I’ll stop being stuck at the kids’ table at events
  8. Maybe now my friends will stop making fun of my lack of bar knowledge
  9. You can’t even imagine how excited I am for bar trivia nights
  10. Glitter, sparkles, and crowns, oh my!
  11. I still have another year to relive my youth that I wish I didn’t waste
  12. Do you even know how many cool 21st birthday things there are out there?
  13. 21 means I’m older and wiser, so to all those dear, sweet, Freshmen, maybe you want to listen when I offer academic advice?
  14. My niece and I share the same birthday and she’s turning two now which means that it’s perfectly acceptable for us to act the same age sometimes…KIDDING
  15. I can stop annoying all my friends with my singing “I AM 20 GOING ON 21” a la Sound of Music at every opportunity
  16. Maybe now I can convince someone in my family to give me an education on all that bar lingo…any takers? No one?
  17. Maybe now people will stop confusing me for a senior…in high school
  18. Only one more year until I can blast TSwift’s “22” for all the world
  19. Maybe now everyone will stop seeing me as “the baby” either of the family or of my friends
  20. Being a 90’s chick is awesome!
  21. I have the most amazing friends and family in the world to help celebrate with me and make this birthday and year super special. I love you all so much.
