With Easter just around the corner, some of you are lucky enough to be heading to one of the many amazing ski resorts in Europe. Whether you’re going on a fun-filled university trip, or relaxing with family on the slopes, we believe that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice looking good for staying warm. Whilst we’ve accepted that there’s not much leeway when it comes to your ski jacket and salopettes, we think you could be the envy of the resort with some well-chosen accessories. We can’t all afford Kate Moss’ Chanel ski wardrobe, but we can still capture her style with some high street equivalents. We’ve searched high and low to find out where you can get your hands on some great items to make you stand out against the snow and skiers, and which are practical as well.  So make some room in your case for these awesome accessories.

Headgear

HCX recommends that you always wear a helmet when skiing, but it is possible to look fab after a day on the slopes. Rumour has it than you can lose between 20-30% of your body heat through your head, so a good hat is a must, plus it helps hide your hair when after a long day of skiing. There are so many hats available online, but make sure you have a look at these extra special ones we’ve picked out. ASOS offers the largest selection and they are great value. Beanies are bang on trend at the moment and don’t be afraid of adding some bright colours into the mix for some trendy colour blocking. Also, this cute black knitted turban from Misguided (£5.99) is so chic, and a faux fur hat is very glamorous. The Exeter gift shop also sells some lovely hats for £15, so pay homage to the south west with your university colours.

Headbands & Ear Muffs

A headband is a cute alternative to a hat and there are some fabulously fun ones on zaini.com that will promise to keep your ears nice and snug. This funky pink one is £15.99, and there are loads of other designs that will take your fancy. Another option is ear muffs, which will look really pretty and mean that you don’t have to cover up your hair. Why not go all out and invest in some sheepskin UGG earmuffs that will guarantee a bit of luxury? These gorgeous white ones can be found at Soletrader Outlet for £39.

Gloves

We all know how horrible it is having cold hands, and this is dangerous when you’re on a mountain all day. Snow & Rock are having a big online sale at the moment with plenty of great gloves on offer. They have pairs for just £25 which will guarantee your fingers stay warm and dry. Have a look at Snow & Rock for many more discounted bits. When it comes to après ski a pair of touchscreen gloves will keep you warm whilst allowing you to use your phone, so you can take as many pictures as you want. Amazon has pairs like these for as little as ÂŁ1.30. Also the monochrome is so on trend, and you can put them underneath your skiing gloves for when it gets really cold.

Backpacks

For practical reasons it’s always handy to have a backpack. It can store all your essentials for the day, from food to make up. Luckily backpacks are back in fashion, so you can put everyone’s bits in them and share the carrying duty. Herschel have a cool range of backpacks in all sorts of colours available from Urban Outfitters, ASOS and Size at ÂŁ55. Although this may seem a little steep they’ll be equally as useful around campus – and much better for your back. Bright colours will look great against the snow, especially this neon yellow bag.

So hopefully you’re feeling more inspired about donning your skiwear. Just because the temperatures will be sub-zero, doesn’t mean you can’t look fabulous and impress with your outfit as well as your ski skills.
