The end has come to another University year here at Exeter, and it’s time to say a sad farewell to the fantastic, wonderful Georgie Hazell and Caroline Butten. Not only did Georgie bring Her Campus to Exeter, but she also led our chapter as President for one and a half years before stepping down and handing the reins over to Caroline and Lauren Hudson. Caroline, has been at Georgie’s side since the start, always bringing her creative, girly flair and talented gift for writing to the fore. Throughout her time as President of HCX, she has written articles on a range of topics from Hangover Recipes to Emotional and Physical Cheating helping to organise some amazing events such as the HCX first birthday, which are sure to go down in Her Campus history. The trio that is Georgie, Caroline and Lauren, have ensured HCX maintains its Pink Chapter Level– the highest level a chapter can be awarded by the HC founders, setting the bar high for our new executive team to follow!

With both Georgie and Caroline graduating at the end of this year, Her Campus would just like to say thank you for all of their hard work. The awards that HCX won this summer such as Best Social Media, and Most Content are a testament to Georgie, Caroline and Lauren’s success, placing HCX in the top most read chapters in the world. The new executive team should all take note of the time and effort it takes to make HCX such a success, time and effort Georgie, Caroline and Lauren have devoted to our chapter to ensure all our articles are of the best quality and content, securing Her Campus Exeter’s place firmly on the map.

We are all certain that Georgie and Caroline will go on to do wonderful things in whatever jobs they end up pursuing after graduation and wish them the best of luck for the future. They have both had a truly tremendous impact on the success of HCX, and they will be sorely missed by us all. Lauren Hudson will be the President for next year and we (Georgia Carnegie and Florence Christie) will do our bests to fill the shoes of Georgie and Caroline, to ensure HCX retains its pink level chapter. We hope they will continue to read and procrastinate over all of our articles and perhaps come back and see us all bashing away at the keys of our laptop, as we provide the girls of Exeter University with a wealth of content to read, enhancing the already impressive face of our University as a whole.

“There is  no doubt in my mind that my Her Campus experience has been made so much more special because of Georgie and Caroline. When I started out, I didn’t know either of them at all, but now I can’t imagine my university life without them: next year is going to be very strange for me! The amount of hard work that both these girls have put in to HCX and to Her Campus generally is incredible, and is truly inspiring – I have some very large shoes to fill next year. I hope they have both enjoyed their time with us as much as I, and I’m sure the rest of the team, have enjoyed getting to know them.

They have achieved some amazing things, both inside and outside Her Campus, and I’m so pleased to be able to call both these girls my friends – I’m very sure we’ll be keeping in touch regularly! You  have been two of the best Presidents and the best friends that a girl could ask for – it’s going to be so strange without you here! I wish you all the luck in the world with your new jobs and expect you to keep in regular contact with us all at HCX. Lots of love, Lauren”

Good luck and thank you girls!

Georgia is in her third year at Exeter studying English and French Law. Last year she headed the Culture team as Local Culture editor, informing all of our lovely readers about the best events and places to explore in this beautiful city. She may have taken off her cultural clogs, but she is still heavily involved in Her Campus Exeter, leading the team as joint President with Florence Christie this year. When she isn’t slaving away at French law, or updating her Tumblr of pretty pictures stolen from other more committed bloggers, she can be spotted in the Forum sipping a hazlenut laté, whilst feeling guilty for said indulgence and Instagramming pictures of Costa cups. When day turns to night, Monday Arena is generally a favourite haunt or when she is feeling particularly edgy you may find her by the quayside at Cellar Door embracing her inner Cara Delvigne- thougbts of Costa on her mind! Although she never says no to a night in with her girls, watching chick flicks- preferably involving Ed Westwick. At the end of this year,  Georgia will continue to pursue her career as a lawyer, saying goodbye to rainy Britain and Bonjour to très chic France, where she will be completing the final year of her degree. Continuing to follow her mantra of work hard play hard, I wouldn’t be surprised if in in no time this girl could give Legally Blonde Elle Brooks a run for her money.
