8 beauty buys to get you pump(kin)ed for Autumn season

It’s finally #PSL season (that’s ‘pumpkin spiced latte’ to those out of the loop) – the days are shortening, the leaves are falling, and the tans are fading. But fear not, these autumnal must-haves are here to keep the summer blues at bay…

     1. The Body Shop’s Special Edition Vanilla Pumpkin Range

Inspired by fresh-baked Halloween goodies, The Body Shop invites you to ‘trick or treat’ your skin with their new special edition Vanilla Pumpkin range. This seasonal collection includes a silky hand cream, a nourishing shower gel, a creamy body butter and a shimmer mist body fragrance. With notes of pumpkin, tonka bean, hazelnut, and maple syrup, the Vanilla Pumpkin range will have you smelling like an autumn cookie. Also, it’s 100% cruelty free and vegetarian friendly to boot!

     2. Pumpkin Pie Chapstick

Originally a US release, this delectable lip balm has since become available online (try Amazon.co.uk and eBay.co.uk) to UK markets. Part of ChapStick’s ‘Seasonal Flavours’ line, this take on the American classic promises to nourish and protect dry lips all day long (if you can resist the temptation to lick it off!).

     3. LUSH 2017 Halloween Range

With the colder climate creeping in, bath season looms and LUSH has got us covered. This year’s Halloween range will cast a spell on your senses with its selection of ghoulish treats, both old and new. Perhaps, the bell of the ball is LUSH’s returning ‘Sparkling Pumpkin Bubble Bar’. With juniper berry oil for balancing hair and skin and lime oil to uplift and protect, this autumnal classic is a glitter lover’s dream. PSA: it also comes in bright pink.

     4. Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

Urban Decay’s new Naked Heat palette is the eye shadow embodiment of autumn. With 12 amber-hued neutrals of warm browns, burnt oranges and deep reds, the Naked Heat palette is the holy grail of the coveted sultry day-to-night makeup look. Featuring Urban Decay’s trademark ‘Pigment Infusion System™’, you can expect bold impact colour and impressive staying power. But act fast – these little numbers are selling out quicker than you can say ‘pumpkin spiced latte’.

     5. The Library of Fragrance Pumpkin Pie Cologne Spray

With notes of pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon, a touch of ginger and a hint of cloves, this cologne is the perfect warming scent to keep you feeling cosy this autumn. Though Library of Fragrance have sadly recently closed down their UK website, you can find this and others on their online section of www.amazon.co.uk and on www.boots.com. You may also be tempted by ‘Fireplace’ and ‘Chai Tea’, now available in the autumn collection.

     6. Essie Nail Polish – Playing Koi

Essie’s DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free polish in the shade ‘Playing Koi’ is the ultimate autumn nail shade. Described as a ‘flirtatious orange rust’, deepening red leaves and ripe pumpkins swim to mind, with just a hint of muted brown to allow for everyday utility. Best paired with a chunky sweater and a mug of hot chocolate.

     7. Sleek Eau La La Liner Pencil In Pumpkin

Sleek’s Eau La La Liner Pencil in the shade ‘Pumpkin’ adds an autumnal pop of colour and spice to any makeup look. While orange liners are ten to the dozen, this one doubles up as a lip and eye liner, and is specifically designed to suit all skin tones. Apply a thin streak closely along the lash line for a subtle effect, or cover the whole eyelid and blend out for a dramatic hit of seasonal spirit. A 2-in-1 autumn beauty must-have.

     8. Too Cool For School Pumpkin 24k Gold Mask

This ‘Too Cool For School’ Pumpkin 24k Gold Mask is fresh on the scene from Korea’s growing beauty market. Pumpkin extract packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxyl acids increases cell turnover to brighten and smooth skin, working in combination with 24ct gold (yes, you heard right – real gold) to minimise redness and slow down collagen depletion. The perfect pick-me-up for your skin after a day of exposure to the crisp autumn air.
