Longing for a facial but can’t afford to splash £50? Here at HCX we have made a five step facial guide for you to do at home with ingredients you will find in your cupboard.

Step 1, CLEANSE:

Remove all makeup, making sure your neck, face, and ears are all clean.

Step 2, EXFOLIATE:

Instead of spending money buying an exfoliator, why not try making one yourself. This is a really easy recipe that I find works just as well as the exfoliators you will find at the spa:

Combine 1 teaspoon sugar (brown sugar works the best) with 1/2 teaspoon honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and mix well, you can always make more depending on how much you want.

Next, rub the exfoliating facial scrub in small circular motions over your face, focusing on your nose and forehead. Areas which you find are more oily will need a better scrub!

Step 3, STEAM:

Take a large bowl and fill with boiling hot water, then place your face over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. The closer your face is to the water the better, but be careful not to burn yourself! Stay here for as long as you can handle it.

Step 4, MASK:

There are so many recipes online for facemasks but here at HCX we thought we’d share with you our favourite. Its quick, easy, and the perfect 15 minute relaxation tool. All you need is an avocado, honey and yogurt.

First, mash half an avocado with a fork until creamy. Avocados contain a deep penetrating vegetable oil that’s perfect for dry skin and will give your skin a healthy and beautiful glow – perfect for after a heavy night in mosaic!

Next, add 1 tbsp of natural honey to the avocado. Honey kills germs on the skin and can reduce swelling and inflammation, leaving skin taught and youthful!

Finally, add 1tbsp of natural yogurt. Yogurt is a natural and gentle clenser which contains lactic acid so will leave your skin soft and tight, refining pores.

Now that your mask is ready apply a thin layer to your face and neck. Place two cucumber slices over your eyes, sit back and relax. I recommend leaving it on for 15 minutes for the best results!

To remove rinse your face thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.

Step 5, HYDRATE:

And finally, moisturize all over your face and neck to leave perfectly hydrated skin!
